The Investor's Mindset - God Goes First

Mar 9, 2025    Pastor Michael Larson

Everyone is looking for the ultimate return on investment—a way to give the least and gain the most. But what if the key to real, lasting wealth isn’t about getting more, but giving first?

People spend their lives chasing wealth that vanishes, pursuing security that never lasts. If God isn’t first in our finances, then our finances are out of order.

In this message, we unpack Cain and Abel’s first fruits and how this principle applies to our lives today!

Genesis 4:1-7 tells the story of Cain and Abel—two brothers who both brought offerings to God. But God accepted Abel’s offering and rejected Cain’s. Why?

First fruits vs. Tithing.

- First fruits = Giving the first and best of what you receive to God. This is a principle of faith—giving before you know what the total will be.

- Tithing = Giving 10% of your total income. This is a principle of obedience, ensuring God is honored with our increase.
